Earlier this month, the Virginia Tech staff extended an offer to Richmond (Va.) Thomas Jefferson 2023 athlete Aziah Johnson. The 6-2, 175-pounder can play both sides of the ball and is a solid returner on kickoffs and punts for his high school. The Hokies' first choice for him is as a wideout, though his versatility is a selling point.

As this stage of his recruitment, the main contenders are North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and East Carolina. Johnson is also receiving interest from programs including Arizona State, Duke, Florida, James Madison, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio, Penn State, Richmond, South Carolina, and Syracuse.
