Becton played in 10 games, making 12 total stops during his first year on the field for the Hokies. A onetime Georgia commit, he flipped to Virginia Tech just a few days before National Signing Day 2018. VT has loaded up at the defensive end position in the 2019 and 2020 classes, so while his departure may turn out to be impactful, there are replacements ready to step up for a guy who had yet to prove himself as a consistent force on the field.

Becton was suspended after the season for an unspecified violation of team rules, and the likelihood that he returned to the program has long seemed slim. He has not announced potential destinations.
