The Hokies are hot: North Stafford (Va.) defensive back Shawn Asbury is Virginia Tech's third commit in five days.
The 5-11, 175-pounder is a safety capable of contributing at cornerback or nickel at the next level. A two-star unranked at his position or within the state of Virginia, Asbury moves the Hokies up to the No. 44 recruiting class in the nation, with 12 commitments.
