Reuben Adams swings through Blacksburg

Virginia Tech is leaving no stone unturned on the recruiting trail, and paying close attention to in-state powerhouse programs is a great way to unearth talent. Woodbridge (Va.) 2020 offensive lineman Reuben Adams made his way to Blacksburg as part of a group visit from the Vikings' football program Saturday, and began to build his relationship with VT.

Veteran defensive coordinator Bud Foster set up the visit with Woodbridge head coach Gary Wortham.

"Coach Foster has a Great relationship with my head coach and he invited us," Adams explained. "I went on the visit with my Coaches and some of my teammates. We all enjoyed it."

There was plenty to do on campus. The 6-4, 280-pounder and his teammates got to see just about everything they wanted to on the Virginia Tech campus. Adams also got a chance to speak with Foster - and picked up an invitation to the Hokies' summer prospect camp.

"We saw campus, basketball courts, everything," he said. "I did speak to the coaches, and I love the way they run things at VT. I spoke to Coach Foster and we talked about the future, and camp, and things along those lines. I think the best part of the visit was when we all got to play basketball with everybody."

Adams's recruiting trail doesn't end there - not even for the next couple weeks. Along with the Woodbridge crew, he plans to make his way to Old Dominion this weekend, and the rest of the group's plans will continue to develop - and include many more visits.

"We've planned on going to ODU on Saturday, and we have other visits coming up," Adams said.

Old Dominion is one of two programs that have offered (Charlotte is the other), but with his size, skill, and devotion to getting out on as many campus visits as possible, it's likely that Adams ends up with many more before the process is complete.
