The latest

Keys picked up his offer after Hokies running backs coach and DMV recruiting ace (and former DeMatha head coach) Elijah Brooks was in the school late last week. He's also a high school teammate of 2024 commit Emmett Laws - there are plenty of connections here. He hasn't yet had the opportunity to visit Blacksburg for a game - and although time is running short in the regular season, it's still a possibility for one of the final two home games.

Game breakdown

Keys's measurements may say "slot," but his style of play is much more like a traditional flanker: he likes to run downfield routes and is capable of using his speed to get on a defensive back's heels and then break down to catch passes downfield, or continue to try to win one-on-ones deep. He shows good long speed on special teams, and is used for some traditional slot responsibilities (such as jet sweeps), but has much more to his game than "find a soft spot in the zone and make something happen after the catch." He doesn't have a ton of reps because of how stacked DeMatha is, but there's plenty of skillset and natural ability to build on.
