New Virginia Tech football offer: Jeremiah Koger

Virginia Tech has offered Baltimore St. Frances 2025 wide receiver Jeremiah Koger. Here's a quick look at him.

Koger is in his first year at St. Frances Academy after previously attending Archbishop Curley, also in Baltimore City. Virginia Tech is actually the first new program to offer since the move, though (BC and Maryland jumped in this Summer), and that offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen dropped by the school is meaningful. There's a large contingent of SFA players visiting for the Syracuse game this Thursday, and Koger should be among them. That will allow the Hokies to build those early bonds that give them staying power in his recruitment.

Koger has good releases off the line, using lateral agility to beat the press. That, combined with his height, allows him to be a deep threat on jump balls despite not having blazing downfield speed. He can go up and high-point passes over defense backs, and does a good job firing his hands late and using his body to extend toward the ball while shielding a defensive back from making a play on it. Because he's mostly catching fades at the high school level, he'll have to get reps to be precise in other parts of the route tree, and while he shows decent desire to make yardage after the catch, he has limited clips showing that he can do it consistently.
