Virginia Tech has offered Chesterfield (Va.) Lloyd C. Bird 2019 athlete Hakeem Beamon. Here's a quick look at the player.

VT was beaten to the punch by North Carolina, which offered him this summer, but it's easy to see a recruiting path that leads him to Blacksburg nonetheless. He camped at Virginia Tech this summer, and even has a class of 2017 teammate - linebacker Rayshard Ashby - bound to be a Hokie. While there is still a period of more than two years before he's going to put his signature on a National Letter of Intent, the connections to the in-state program give them a great chance to land him.
