Virginia Tech has offered Centreville (Va.) Westfield 2019 running back/linebacker Eugene Asante. Here's a quick look at him.

The latest
All of Asante's other offers come from the FCS ranks, mostly HBCU programs. It's clear that Virginia Tech is a completely different level from the other programs in the mix. However, he's already visited Blacksburg on a couple occasions, and on his most recent trip, it became apparent that the interest was legitimate - in both directions.
The majority of that change from the Hokies' end is the combination of his new experience at the linebacker position during his senior year, and their desire to fill out a little bit of linebacker depth with some attrition this season.
It would surprise at this point to see him end up anywhere other than Virginia Tech.
