New Virginia Tech football offer: Derrick McLendon

Virginia Tech has offered Tucker (Ga.) 2019 defensive end Derrick McLendon. Here's a quick look at the player.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, South Florida

McLendon admits he grew up an Alabama fan, so overcoming the Tide (when they've already offered) is going to be a tough ask. However, the Hokies are working hard to make an impact in the Atlanta area, and with offers out to several others in the True 19 training group, there's a pretty good chance he at least makes it for a summer visit. It remains to be seen what will develop from that, but the coaching staff should get at least one chance to impress.
