VT's coaches just saw Smith perform at the Peach Jam AAU tournament, so they got a chance to see hi min person - and liked what they were able to determine about Smith's game. The Class of 2019 prospect is still relatively early in his recruiting process - most of his attention to date comes from in-state programs - so it remains to be seen how much of an impact VT will have on his thought process. Look for the staff to get him on campus to begin building the relationship.
