Back in January, we took a look at how the Hokies were shaping up to compete for the top players in the Commonwealth during the 2024 cycle. Six months later, where do they stand?

VT may well be performing better than expected among the very top players in Virginia, and many of those they've missed on... are more like those being passed on.

State ranking in January: 1

The latest: While Jenkins remains the top player n the class, Virginia Tech's chance to land him has seemed to decline precipitously. That largely comes at the hand of Georgia, with the reigning National Champs making him a priority. The longer his recruitment goes, the more chance VT has to get back into it, but the Dawgs' lead may be tough to overcome as long as they continue wanting him.
