Virginia Tech has its 11th commit in the 2018 class, and it comes at an important position. Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek offensive lineman John Harris will be a Hokie.
Harris had long favored Virginia Tech, and at times earlier this Spring, seemed likely to pull the trigger. Now, he's finally followed through. He's a three-star unranked at his position or within the state of Georgia.
He is the first offensive line commit in a class that is likely to have four or five of them come Signing Day. He is also the first 2018 pledge from Georgia, a state that the Hokies have made a priority since the arrival of Justin Fuente's coaching staff.
With the commitment, Virginia Tech's recruiting class moves up to No. 22 nationally.
