Virginia Tech worked with ESPN and ACC Network to acquire the ability to give Tech fans a unique look at the longest football game in ACC history, a contest in which the Hokies eventually prevailed by a 43-41 margin when QB Quincy Patterson scored on a successful two-point try to end the game.
Fuente and Laaser covered a number of topics, including:
• Using three different quarterbacks in the game.
• How the game plan changed in the second half.
• Picking spots to let Patterson take shots in the passing game.
• The methodology of icing the kicker.
• The new overtime rules for 2019.
• The defense coming up with big plays.
• Going for the win!
