Dyami Brown includes Hokies in top six

Charlotte (N.C.) West Mecklenburg wide receiver Dyami Brown is one of Virginia Tech's top 2018 targets, and the Hokies remain alive in his recruitment.

The 6-2, 172-pound four-star named his top six schools last night (a "top five" with a tie at the four-spot), and Virginia Tech comes in No. 2, behind home-state North Carolina.

Ohio State, Michigan, Louisville, and Alabama are also in the hunt for the No. 199 overall prospect and No. 41 wide receiver nationally. The No. 9 rising senior in North Carolina eliminated the likes of Duke, Maryland, and Oklahoma from serious contention in his recruitment, among several other schools that had offered.

Brown also announced his intentions to wait until at least April 16 to further narrow down his list - to one school, the one he'll select for his college football.

Brown has been to Blacksburg several times, including for the Hokies' annual Summer Camp last off-season, as well as for a home game in the Fall. The Hokies have a need for outside receivers in the 2018 class after the receiver-heavy 2017 group focused mostly on re-stocking the ranks at slot.
