Recruitment story

Culver made an early commitment to Colorado, but other schools sensed that may not be final, with some of them - including Virginia Tech - offering over the Summer. He took an unofficial visit to campus during the Fall, then returned again last weekend, within a couple weeks of decommitting from Colorado. Though he'd previously taken another official to Ohio State, VT was more impressive, and he committed.

Game breakdown

Culver is a tall, lean offensive lineman at the high school level whose first priority in Blacksburg is going to be adding weight to his 6-6, 280-pound frame. He has plenty of comfort run-blocking, and once he adds the weight, his technique is going to allow him to be an outstanding player in the run game. He's less experienced pass-protecting, but has the lean athleticism and quick feet to be a solid player in that phase.

Statistically speaking

As an offensive lineman, he didn't put up stats for a good Baylor program.
