Since the first Monday of August, there really hasn't been any let-up with Virginia Tech. The Hokies have had little time off since the beginning of fall camp and burst into the season with six straight wins after a season-opening loss to Alabama.
But it's now time for a bit of rest.

"Being cleared and having two weeks of work, I think I see him getting closer and closer," Gray said. "He has to feel good. If he wants to go out there and kinda ease back, that's gonna be on him. I think he's at a point now where he's at least in the ease back mode. We'll see exactly where he is in another week and a half, as far as, if he feels that he's in starter mode and wanna work from there."
There's work to be done and there will be plenty of film watched. But as one of the only teams to go seven games into the season before a break, a bye is certainly needed in a number of ways.
