Thomas Williams is a Hokie!

The Hokies' big week rolls along! Commitment No. 15 for the 2023 class is three-star safety Thomas Williams.

The 5-11, 175-pounder from Greenville (S.C.) Powdersville picked the Orange and Maroon over Penn State, Tennessee, West Virginia, and several mid-major programs.

Williams was all-state in South Carolina's Class AAA as a running back, though his body type best projects to the defensive backfield, and that's where the Hokies plan to give him his first shot.

He is VT's first commitment from South Carolina in the 2023 class - something of a departure from other recent groups, which have featured increased emphasis on the Palmetto State. With his pledge, the Hokies' 2023 recruiting class climbs two spots to No. 31 nationally per the Rivals team rankings.
