Has your size changed at all?
Actually, Coach Wiles wants me to maintain that weight, so I'm at about 278 pounds right now.
What does your workout routine entail?
Ever since I signed, it's been intense with my strength coach. He works on a lot of explosion, doing a lot of squats and stuff to help with my hips. I do bench, too and stuff like that.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
The last week of June, I believe.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
I wanna get in shape, be ready for a lot of reps. That's what they want me to be ready for, a lot of reps, so I don't wanna be winded. My technique still has to be there and I've just gotta work on my game, my hands and have a better overall IQ.
How would you describe your playing style?
I would say I have a motor. I play with a chip on my shoulder and I'm non-stop. Once I go in between the lines, it's nothing but me and my opponent. I can all four downs, just whatever Coach wants me to do.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I definitely wanna take the ACC and with our schedule, we definitely have a chance to. I wanna make a big impact as a true freshman, like the freshman first-team and all the stuff that Kendall Fuller got. I just wanna make an impact.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
I have two. Definitely playing Ohio State at the Horseshoe and Thursday night, when Miami comes to Lane. Those two teams are what I'm excited for.
What's your favorite food?
I'll go with anything, but I'll go with Chicken. There's a lot of protein in chicken, but I like pizza, too. Pizza is pretty good, any kind of pizza.
What is your favorite movie?
I'm a sports guy, so I'm going with "Remember The Titans."
What is your favorite TV show?
Hmm, I'll go with "Hardcore Pawn" because that's a pretty fun watch and Animal Planet. They're both good to watch.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
Believe it or not, it's "Enter Sandman." I listen to that every time I get on the bus, before I leave.
What would be three words to describe you?
Humble, committed and outgoing.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Ahh, I'm sorry Chris Brown, but I'm taking Rihanna.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
I'll try to go for the best. I'll try to go with Floyd 'Money' Mayweather. I probably won't last long, but hey, I can say I did it.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
My freshman year, making that first start, playing against Kecoughtan (Va.) It was the first time I'd ever played varsity, so that was the best experience and I felt good about it.
What's the one thing you learned from your recruitment that you would pass on as advice to a future recruit?
It was definitely fun. It only happens once, so enjoy it. Just make a choice with wherever you feel comfortable and make sure you have a good relationship with the coaches.
