Has your size changed at all?
Right now, I'ma bout 6'4" and 270.
What does your workout routine entail?
Right now, the workouts are pretty limited. I just had surgery a few weeks ago on my shoulder. Coming through that, I'm in physical therapy. But before that, I was working with Charley Meyer, working out in the mornings, before school and after school. We were doing our workout books that Tech gave us. We also had a trainer that we worked with to do extra stuff. I had a tear in my shoulder from the all-star game I played in, the Chesapeake Bowl. I'm just patching that up.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
I'll be there July 1.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
I wanna work on my footwork and my hand movement a little more. I just wanna be a better student of the game, being able to breakdown plays. I'm just getting ready for the school aspect because I know there's a big difference, just taking it all in.
How would you describe your playing style?
I like to think I have a consistent motor. I play with a poker face. Mu move doesn't really change, so people can't pick up on me that way. I just get after it every play. Every snap is explosive for me, offense and defense.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I just wanna get out there and do my best, on the field and off the field. My freshman year, I just wanna be as productive as possible, whether it's redshirting or being able to get on the field. I just wanna be able to contribute to the team, even if it's getting good reps at practice or good plays in a game. I wanna get some bowl games and national championships.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
I'd have to say Alabama next year. The other game is just whoever I play against for my first snap, just so I can go out there and prove I have a right to be out there on the field and that I can produce for the team.
What's your favorite food?
I'm a big seafood kind of guy. I like fried oysters or I love shrimp.
What is your favorite movie?
There's a few. I've gotta go with "Remember the Titans" and "Friday Night Lights."
What is your favorite TV show?
I don't really get around to a lot of TV. I just watch Sports Center when I am watching TV.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
Probably "Run This Town," Jay-Z's song.
What would be three words to describe you?
Humble, fun and goal-oriented.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
I don't know, there's a lot of them that are really attractive. I'd probably have to say Rosario Dawson. She's one of my favorite actresses.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
Probably Mike Tyson. Everybody knows he was the best, so why not go against the best. If you lose, I mean, no one is gonna look at you the wrong way for going against him.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
We had two big games in my high school career. My sophomore year, we beat a team that was the No. 1 team in New York. They beat us the year before by like 40 points. They came down here that year and we were down 20-0. We came back in the fourth quarter and won 21-20. Last year, we won in quadruple overtime against St. Christopher's (Va.) 48-45 after being down by 20 points.
