Has your size changed at all?
I'm maybe 263, the last time I weighed myself, but other than that, about the same.
What does your workout routine entail?
They sent me a workout and it's not super specific, but it has your basic squats, hang clean and percentages and stuff like that. It's giving you a basic workout and everything like that.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
We'll go down July 1 and then I'll move in and get my physical that day.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
I need to get my weight up, obviously and that'll come once I start working with strength coaches. I'm willing to put in work in the weight room and eating, obviously. Then, it's just getting your strength up because it's a huge step up going to college football.
How would you describe your playing style?
I play fast and I try to outpace everybody. I just wanna hit you before you know what's happening and keep hitting you. A lot of people don't expect you to block them down-field and when you go down-field and you throw that extra hit they're not expecting, that's fun.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I think at this time, I'm gonna be redshirted. So as far as playing time, I'm not gonna get any playing time. I don't necessarily have a number or certain place I wanna be, I just wanna improve in everything. The Iron Hokie, that's something cool I would like to work towards in four to five years and I'd really like to achieve as far as football. In the classroom, I'd like to have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
I know Virginia is the big rival, so obviously there. I have a friend going there. Then, I think it'd be cool to play Miami because there's just something surrounding the fan base and I think it'd be cool to go in and play them.
What's your favorite food?
Tortellini alfredo or fried froggies.
What is your favorite movie?
Hmm, I think I'm gonna say 'Anchorman.'
What is your favorite TV show?
I don't wanna say "Sportscenter" because that's such a cliche answer. I don't know, I guess I'd go "Sportscenter" because it's on 24/7.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
I'd go with "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor. That's one of my favorites.
What would be three words to describe you?
Tough, courageous and effort.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
(laughs). I think I'd have to go with Brooklyn Decker.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
Man, I don't know. Brock Lesnar would be fun to fight, just to fight him and see where I am. Or Floyd Mayweather, just because I don't think I could beat him, but it' be cool to go up against a guy like that.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
My junior season, two years ago, my brother and I were on the same team for high school. We were in the district playoffs and lost in the second round. After that game, I went up and gave him a hug. It was bittersweet because I'd grown up and we'd done everything together and that's the last time we were gonna play on a team together.
