Has your size changed at all?
My height is still 6'6" but my weight is 211 now. I dropped a couple of pounds just with the track season. I'll get the weight back in the fall.
What does your workout routine entail?
I don't do a lot of workouts with weights, because I know, especially with my arm, it'll get tight. So I do a lot of calisthenics, endurance workouts and mental workouts. It's just whatever I need to do to prepare myself for the next level really well.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
It'll probably be the week after or the same week as graduation, somewhere around there. That's the first week of June. Really, it's just whenever I can get up there and get started.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
Consistency, being consistent in my throwing motion, being consistent in making the right decisions, that's the main thing you can work on as a quarterback, footwork. It's being humble on and off the field, but most of the stuff is mental, I can tell you that.
How would you describe your playing style?
I like to have fun when i;m playing, first of all. I feel like if you have fun, you're gonna play well anyway. You wanna look good, have that swagger on the field. I just like to have fun when i play, bring energy to everybody around me, too.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
Well, I can sit here and be like, I wanna win Heisman, win the ACC championship and win a national championship, because really, that's what I wanna do. Those are my goals right there. I know they're far-fetched, but that's what I think about.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
I'd probably say Torrance Gibson at Ohio State. I wanna play against him. I know their quarterbacks situation is different from our situation, but seeing him on the field, I'd love it. I know he's one of the local dual-threat quarterbacks and I think I'd do good against him. I wish Byron Cowart went on to the ACC because I'd love to play against him again.
What's your favorite food?
Probably what my mama cooked today. She cooked yellow rice, lettuce, baked chicken and next week, it'll be whatever she cooks then. I don't have any set foods, I'll eat anything my mama fixes.
What is your favorite movie?
I just watched 'American Sniper,' so that's probably my favorite movie right now. Go see it.
What is your favorite TV show?
My favorite is 'Fresh Prince Of Bel Air.'
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
Probably Chief Keef, 'Love Sosa.' That's my jam all day. I could listen to that right now.
What would be three words to describe you?
I'm probably goofy, smart and athletic. I like to have fun, too. There's time to be serious, but I like to have fun.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Meagan Good.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
I wouldn't wanna go toe to toe with someone who was probably trained. I don't want someone who's gonna kick my behind, like Floyd Mayweather. I'd probably do some kickboxing anyway, so I'll say Oscar De La Hoya. That's proabably one of my favorite boxers.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
I would say my whole senior year, just because of the guys on the team and being around the guys. Everybody had the same goals. They wanted to win. We came up short, but my whole senior year, I'll never forget it.
What's the one thing you learned from your recruitment that you would pass on as advice to a future recruit?
If it's something that you really wanna do in the future, I feel like, by all means you should chase your goals. But stay humble all the time. Don't ever even have a moment feeling like you own something or something is obligated to you. Everything comes the right way if you stay humble.
