Has your size changed at all?
I'm 6'1" and right now, I'm 220. Same speed though. But I'm kinda fluctuating between 218 and 221.
What does your workout routine entail?
With the book, I've started out with the advanced level already. Basically it's a lot of stretching and a lot of quick drillwork at the beginning. You cool, down and go into your lifting and it's a lot of muscle groups working you from head to toe. You do this one for eight weeks, then you go into another routine of lifting. It's broken my body down a little bit, but it's not too bad. I like it, added with my track stuff.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
I wanted to go like two or three weeks after I graduate. My parents are thinking about me leaving like end of June, early July.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
With the book, it has every question I've ever had until now. It's every question I've ever been scared to ask someone and it breaks it down to a T.
How would you describe your playing style?
My playing style has really changed over the years. Sophomore year I was a quick, scatty type of guy. Junior year, I was still on the smaller side, but now, I play a bit harder. I'm still quick and fast, but my senior year was more pounding the ball. My personnel this year forced me to be a more tougher, physical back. I feel like I'm balanced and that's what Coach Beamer talked about.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
My first one is to start. Second is to break some type of record as a freshman at Tech. I'm trying to get the freshman of the year award. I just wanna be one of the best team players and become one of the leaders of the team, even though I'm a freshman and be one of the hardest workers on the team.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
Alabama. Just because they're 'Bama. Everyone tells me at the gym that we're gonna go against grown men and these dudes should be in the NFL. I'm like, can you please stop bandwagoning? I understand they have good players, but we have good players too. I feel like it's all about execution.
What's your favorite food?
That changes all the time. My mom just made me two dishes this weekend. One was pasta with white sauce and chicken and shrimp. Then, there was another one with red sauce and sausage and shrimp. I think it was called shrimp scampi or something, but right now, I've been eating that all weekend.
What is your favorite movie?
Oooohh. This might be a chick flick to people but I don't care what anybody says. The last Twilight trilogy, "Breaking Dawn," I liked that movie.
What is your favorite TV show?
"Dragonball Z," easy.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
There's a couple of songs, actually One of my friends at school, he got the song, 'Hell of a Time," I get hype to that song. There's another song on the radio, "Tears For ODB." J Cole.
What would be three words to describe you?
Let's see, my dad one time told me that I never get intimidated. That would be three, but I don't know. Let's see, hard-working, smart and adaptable.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Wow, hold on. Aww man, I don't even know. I'll go with Megan Goode.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
Let's see, any Alabama player.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
The first day I started as a freshman. The first game, we came out of the locker room and we came underneath the goalposts. I was in one of the leader lines. The first play, I got the ball and that was memorable. Basically saying, I'm a freshman playing on a varsity football team and one of the best programs in that district. I was kinda hype. We always went 9-1, 8-2 or undefeated.
