Has your size changed at all?
Now, I'm up to 5'11" and a half and up to about 187 now. No bad weight.
What does your workout routine entail?
When I go to the gym, a lot of days I work on upper body or lower body. And that's different days. Some days, I'll come in and just get everything, do it all. Every day, when I am working out, I try to hit the field. If it's super pouring down and muddy, I'm not gonna risk an injury, but I try to get in cone drills and other drills to get cardio in. Now that I've started track, I get more cardio too. I'm taking a look at this book I just got from Virginia Tech to see what I haven't done.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
I'm not sure, but July 4 or 5.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
Just buckling down and trying to make that transition to the college level, that's one of my biggest things. It's knowing this isn't high school football anymore and everybody's out here playing for keeps. I know we're playing for keeps, but we're also playing for a team, for the value of the team, but people are playing for keeps. I've gotta buckle down and mature, because it's a whole 'nother phase.
How would you describe your playing style?
I like to play as a leader on the field and just be a captain and field general out there. I play smart, aggressive and finesse when I need to. I never really took the time to describe how I play, but I like to be a field general.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I wanna try to at least get on the field an get a pick or two, cause a fumble. I want some kind of impact and try to take one of those picks to the crib. I might not get as much playing time coming in or starting, but I'll be working to try and get it.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
The first game of the season, against Alabama, that'll be something interesting to play the team that just won the national championship.
What's your favorite food?
I like steak, with some A-1. Any type of steak sauce, but mainly A-1.
What is your favorite movie?
I've got two. I like "Friday Night Lights" and "Friday."
What is your favorite TV show?
There's so many of them. I could never go wrong with "SportsCenter," ESPN.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
This season, my song was "Understand Me" by Chief Keef. I could put that on replay like 20 times in a row and listen to that.
What would be three words to describe you?
I'm dedicated, ambitious and a worker. I'm trying to go get it, whatever I do.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
That's easy, Keshia Cole.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
I'd like to go against Floyd (Mayweather) and see what Floyd is like. I know he's a lightweight, but he's one of the best at what he does. He does all that talking, but he's so small.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
There's a lot of those. It's probably this season, making the playoffs with my team. It's something we'd never done at my school, so making the playoffs with those guys. Then, just this whole season, from my trip to Pennsylvania, two-a-days, midnight madness and just this whole senior season.
