Has your size changed at all?
No sir, it's the same.
What does your workout routine entail?
I usually start off with cardio and then I'll switch it up each day with upper body, lower body. Mainly part of the workouts we would do at my high school, upper body would include bench press, upright row, curls. With lower body, it'd be squats and calf-raises and power cleans. I've been doing that the past few weeks and ending it with cardio and resistance.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
Saturday.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
I'm looking to get faster, bigger. I like press coverage so speaking from a DB standpoint, I wanna work on my press coverage skills and just study a lot of film and recognize defenses. In high school, it's not as complex as the collegiate level. I wanna learn the overall scheme and if I end up playing wide receiver a little bit, just recognize the coverage skills and changing the route and getting in touch with the quarterbacks, having a chemistry. Coach Gray, he recruited me as a defensive back, so that's what I'm going in as, but if they need me to line up in a couple of receiver packages, I'd be more than happy to do that to help the team.
How would you describe your playing style?
I play smart. I'll switch up my stances so I'm not readable. Some guys get out there in the same position and you know what they're gonna do, so I switch it up a little bit. I'm physical when it comes to press defense, press man and on offense as well.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I definitely want to start. I'm not looking to redshirt. If not starting, I wanna be a nickelback or something like that, but I definitely want some playing time. As a freshman, I wanna be all-conference and first-team and any other accolades I can get. I'm shooting for the highest, so I'm not looking to settle anywhere. I've just gotta stay hungry and grind every day.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
We don't play Clemson of Florida State this year, but I really wanna face Amari Cooper at Alabama. We're close to the Georgia Dome, so that'll be a chance for all my friends and family to go and see what it's like. I'm looking to put on for Newnan, so definitely looking to good things in the Georgia Dome and continuing on this season.
What's your favorite food?
Steak with Heinz 57 sauce.
What is your favorite movie?
I'd have to go with "Transformers."
What is your favorite TV show?
That's a hard one. It used to be "Two A Days," but that got cut off, so I like "Faceoff."
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
There's a lot of 'em. "Love Sosa" by Chief Keef.
What would be three words to describe you?
Tenacious, hard-working and hungry.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
That's a hard one. Probably Megan Goode or Mila Kunis.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
Floyd "Money" Mayweather.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
My freshman season, we had coaches, but they all got switched out and Northgate isn't really known as a good football team. We were last in our county, but academics-wise we were on point. Over the past couple of years, with the new coaching staff coming in, they really changed everything around. The most memorable is just having an opportunity to play D-I and show off my abilities.
