Has your size changed at all?
I actually weigh 280 now.
What does your workout routine entail?
I lift four days a week and then I do speed and agility on Tuesdays. Thursdays, I do conditioning and then on Fridays, I go to my speed coach.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
I'm gonna go July 1.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
I'd like to improve my foot speed and also conditioning. That's something I have to work on, so I want to get better at that. I just wanna become the best player I can be reporting to Tech.
How would you describe your playing style?
Where I played in high school, we were a run-first offense. I guess you can describe my playing style as in the trenches. I love run-blocking, but one thing I need to work on is pass-blocking. We were a run-first offense and ran 80-85 percent of the time.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
Of course, I'm gonna redshirt. I was gonna go to Fork Union for a semester, but during spring camp, Tech realized they didn't have as much depth at tackle as they'd like, so they asked me to come up. I guess my goal as a freshman is to just get used to the program, get used to playing college ball, playing against the talent that's at Tech. It's pretty much getting my feet under me so I can hit the ground running once my eligibility does start after my redshirt.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
I'm not really sure. I went to the Miami game last year and that was a pretty crazy game. I had a lot of fun. I guess Miami is definitely one and Boston College, just because this year I played against Win Homer from Christchurch. I don't know, I don't wanna talk bad about him, but I guess he just rubbed me the wrong way. So I'm looking forward to playing Boston College.
What's your favorite food?
Anything that doesn't eat me first.
What is your favorite movie?
Probably Saving Private Ryan.
What is your favorite TV show?
Hmm. Probably That 70's Show. I really don't watch a whole lot of TV.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
One of them is definitely "Shoot to Thrill" by AC/DC.
What would be three words to describe you?
Goofy, energetic and big, I guess.
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Probably Megan Fox.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
Hmm, that's a tough one. I'm not quite sure. I'm not really a fighter, I'm more of a lover. That doesn't mean I can't get worked up on the football field, but off the field, I'm more of a lover.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
I don't know, I've had quite a bit of them. My sophomore year, when I used to play for the homeschooled team, the year before my freshman year, we lost to a team after going undefeated in the regular season. We lost to a team in the conference championship and we'd never beat them before. My sophomore year, we played them in the regular season and got our asses handed to us. Then we played them again in the conference championship. We were down by four with two minutes left in the game and 75 yards to go and we scored with about 1:15 on the clock. The place went nuts and that was a sobering moment. I was pretty amped up.
