Has your size changed at all?
I'm around 6'3" and 285 pounds.
What does your workout routine entail?
I was doing what the coaches had sent me in the workout book. But I've gone through that two or three times so now, I workout by myself and do some Crossfit stuff and boxing. I'm really trying to mix it up to get my body a good look so I can be ready for Virginia Tech throwing a curveball.
When do you plan on reporting to Virginia Tech?
July 1, so I can have a couple of days to just relax and take it all then.
What do you plan on working or improving on through this summer?
I just need to work on my explosiveness and speed. I'm really trying to hone in on technique. My technique is the best part of my game because my dad really drills on that stuff a lot. It's just my speed and my explosiveness, trying to get places really fast.
How would you describe your playing style?
Right now, I'd say I'm pretty disruptive. I don't beat people with feet or full out strength. It's a combination of both and I just disrupt the play. I just try and knock it out of the water.
What are some of your goals for your freshman season at Virginia Tech?
I'm gonna try my hardest to see the field. That's my number one goal. If not, I'll just do whatever the coaches think is best for me and my future. If they want me to redshirt, I'll do that and work my butt off and see the field the year after that. But I wanna work as hard as I possibly can and hopefully get an opportunity to step out on the field.
What player or team are you most looking forward to going up against?
In 2016, we play Wisconsin and that'll be a very fun game because they're known for the offensive line. It'll be a big clash and a really good test.
What's your favorite food?
Oh, it would have to be pizza.
What is your favorite movie?
Avatar, definitely.
What is your favorite TV show?
Sports Nation. I've got that on record 24/7.
What's the one song you're getting amped up to before a game?
One that just started is Outro by M83. It kinda gets me going. It's a different song, but something about it gets me going.
What would be three words to describe you?
Hmm, I don't know. Just. A Beast. (laughs)
If you could date any celebrity, who would it be?
Hmm, I think it would be Taraji P Henson.
If you could go toe to toe in the ring with anybody, who would it be?
I'd say my dad. Nah, just playing. I'd have to say Mike Tyson. Just because he's a beast.
What's been your most memorable experience playing football?
Just the whole experience is real, close and personal. Working together and building the camaraderie and everything, working for the common goal to get the W, just the whole experience is awesome to me.
