There will be a second Edmunds at Virginia Tech.
The Hokies picked up a commitment today from Dan River (Va.) cornerback Terrell Edmunds, the younger brother of redshirt freshman running back Trey Edmunds. The younger Edmunds, as well as his father and coach, Ferrell Edmunds, confirmed the decision via text message.
"It's a great opportunity for him.," Ferrell Edmunds said. "Last year, just going up there, watching the games and going up there on junior day and the spring game, he had an opportunity to really learn the campus and bond with the coaches. It's a great opportunity for him as a defensive back to go to a great university."
Terrell Edmunds chose the Hokies over offers from Cincinnati and Hampton. But he chose the option of following his brother.
"I think with Terrell, he had his mind on what he wanted to do," Ferrell Edmunds said. "Once he got the Virginia tech offer, I think he was very happy with that. He basically knew what he wanted."
Edmunds becomes the seventh commitment for Virginia Tech in the class.
