MANASSAS, Va. -- In what might be one of the most unexpected commitments in recent memory, Virginia Tech has picked up another addition for the class of 2014.
Stonewall Jackson (Va.) athlete Greg Stroman announced at his school this afternoon that he is committed to Virginia Tech. This despite widespread thought from sources close to him that he would commit to Virginia.
Stroman was very short in his announcement on why he wants to be a Hokie.
"Basically, the reason why I chose Virginia Tech, (is because) I wanna play for my state and represent my state and ball out," Stroman said.
Stroman did give plenty of thanks during his announcement as he prepares to join the Hokies next year. Though listed as a wide receiver, he'll play cornerback for Virginia Tech.
"I wanna just thank God for blessing me with the talent that he's given me," Stroman said. "And to everybody who has helped me with everything, football, life, everything. I wanna thank my parents, my mom and dad, for pushing me to do everything. Then, to my coaches, for putting up with me in practice and for everything."
