At long last, Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy offensive lineman Christian Darrisaw is a Hokie again. After initially signing out of Upper Marlboro (Md.) Riverdale Baptist, he took a postgrad year and didn't waver.

He will enroll at Virginia Tech in just a couple weeks in time to go through spring practice with the team.

Recruitment story

Darrisaw took a couple early visits to Blacksburg during his recruitment out of high school, but the majority of his early interest came from FCS schools, with the likes of Maryland and UVa only giving token love. He picked up a Hokie offer, made his return to campus, and committed shortly thereafter.

Darrisaw signed with VT last February, but instead of enrolling, headed to a postgrad year at Fork Union Military Academy. He didn't waver a bit, and will join VT in January.

Game breakdown

Darrisaw showed some raw talent as a high school prospect, but was in need of some major refinement. He deserves credit for working hard to achieve that refinement: he's added 30 pounds while getting quicker and faster, and is also stronger while being even more flexible than before. Most impressively, his technique didn't waver a bit while the strength of competition improved greatly. He's a true tackle prospect with the power to make a huge impact in the run game.

Statistically speaking

As an offensive lineman, Darrisaw didn't accrue any stats this year, but FUMA's postgrad team is consistently very good.
