Shaquon Anderson-Butts has a top five

There's a long way until Signing Day 2018, but some prospects in the class are already starting to feel out some of their favorites. That includes Harrisburg (Pa.) three-star wide receiver Shaquon Anderson-Butts, who last night named Maryland, Penn State, Pitt, Virginia Tech, and Maryland his top schools in a video he released on Twitter.

The 6-0, 159-pound Butts also holds offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, and Temple - and likely has many more to come - but is most comfortable with his top five schools at this point.

Aside from its status as one of the five most prestigious schools on the early offer list for Anderson-Butts, Virginia Tech's inclusion may have come as something of a surprise: The Hokies just offered the country's No. 59 wide receiver and No. 11 Pennsylvanian in the 2018 class three weeks ago. He has yet to visit Blacksburg, whereas he's been to his other favorites at least once each, and some of them have been on the offer list for well over a year (and Penn State features two of his 2017 teammates, Micah Parsons and Damion Barber, on its commitment list).

Anderson-Butts doesn't have a stated timeline for making his final decision - and after catching 10 touchdowns and nearly 800 yards worth of passes as a junior, it's likely his options will only continue to multiply, leading to many changes down the road.
