The Duke Blue Devils upset Virginia Tech 13-10 on Saturday afternoon in Lane Stadium. It was the first loss to an unranked team at home since the Hokies lost to JMU in 2010. Afterward, head coach Frank Beamer and select players met with the media.
"I give Duke a lot of credit," Beamer said. "They came in here and made a lot of plays. I think we can learn a lot from this video and become a better team because of this game."
Quarterback Logan Thomas threw four interceptions, including a costly one just when it seemed the Hokies might be ready to take the lead.
"It was tough, because we turned it over ourselves," Beamer said. "I don't think we played a Virginia Tech football game tonight."
The Hokies gained 387 total yards, but only managed to put up 10 points.
"It's time to bounce back," Thomas said. "We got to practice harder. We got to practice smarter. We just got to get back to the grind. I think there's a lot of things we could have done better and I'm going to make sure, from now on, that I'm doing my fair part and setting an example."
