Virginia Tech has offered Rabun Gap (Ga.) Nacoochee 2025 tight end Marshall Pritchett. Here's a quick look at him.

Virginia Tech has connections to Rabun Gap - sophomore receiver Tucker Holloway is an alum, and the program has regularly taken group visits to games (and other events) in Blacksburg. Pritchett is from Coastal South Carolina (Charleston) but plays at the school as a boarding student. VT's connections to the Palmetto State may be a little boost, as well. At the end of the day, though, plenty of major programs (including some with an even stronger history at the tight end position) recruit Rabun Gap hard, and landing Pritchett will come down to building a personal relationship and demonstrating team success.

At this stage, Pritchett plays the game more like a big wide receiver than like a tight end. He runs fades, slants, and skinny posts, and very rarely is he an inline TE (or even playing as a jumbo slot). That said, he shows time and again that he takes the blocking side of his responsibilities seriously, and once he has the chance to bulk up, he should at the very least be able to block as an H-back and possibly an inline blocker. With his receiving skills - he's quite fast, has good suddenness laterally, and does an outstanding job using his body to shield defenders from making a play on the ball - any reasonable blocking threat should make him a major weapon at the next level.
