New Virginia Tech football offer: Latavious Brini

Virginia Tech has offered Hialeah Gardens (Fla.) Mater Academy 2017 cornerback Latavious Brini. Here's a quick look at the player.

Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon

Brini has an unreal offer list of more than two dozen bigtime schools, though it's unclear which of those still have room to take him at this late stage of the 2017 recruiting cycle (many offered before his initial commitment to Georgia, which he backed away from in October). He has already taken an official visit to Oklahoma, but the only one planned for January is a trip to Temple next weekend. That leaves two weekend available for the Hokies to get him on campus - including their preferred Jan. 20 weekend for top targets. Look for them to convince him to make it to town then.

VT has a number of Florida-based players on the roster and in the recruiting class, but few from South Florida, where Brini is from, so they'll have to forge some new connections there.
