New Virginia Tech football offer: John FitzPatrick

Virginia Tech has offered Atlanta Marist School 2018 tight end John FitzPatrick. Here's a quick look at the player.

Arizona State, Iowa State, Maryland, NC State, Pitt, Vanderbilt

Fitzpatrick is serious about academics - he's considering Ivy League schools despite numerous Power-5 offers - which gives those with a solid education on offer a boost. He's also looking at how programs use their tight ends (especially given he doesn't get much run in his team's triple-option offense), so the Hokies' deployment of both the Bucky Hodges receiver-type, the more traditional Chris Cunningham, and H-backs like Sam Rogers lat year should be intriguing in the number of options he'd have available in Blacksburg. Finally, his location in Atlanta should be unsurprising as a boost - and priority - for the coaching staff. VT needs to get him on campus, but should stand a good shot to impress if and when that happens.
