New Virginia Tech football offer: Jashaun Corbin

Virginia Tech has offered Rockledge (Fla.) 2018 running back Jashaun Corbin. Here's a quick look at him.

Florida State (former commit), Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, USC

Corbin decommitted from Florida State in the wake of the coaching change in Tallahassee, and is looking at several options. Willie Taggart's Oregon was one of his top choices, so there's a chance his hiring could lead to a reunification with the Noles. This is an interesting offer for the Hokies, who don't have an apparent need for a tailback in the 2018 class with two already committed. There's something to be said for offering just to get a foot in the door in an area (though the Atlantic Coast of Central Florida is not a hotbed necessarily), especially with a four-star kid the Hokies don't have a great shot to land.

Since this recruitment will likely go into the New Year, look for clarity to come in January when it comes to how much effort VT puts into pursuing him.
