Ferguson has already visited campus in the past, so VT is not new to the in-state player, even though the offer is. Getting that early jump on his recruitment should play dividends down the road. He has the capability of being a hybrid-type player between safety and linebacker (a good fit for Virginia Tech's whip position), and having that role for him is going to be a strong selling point. He should be on campus very soon, and the Hokies can start to make their serious case for landing him.
