The Virginia Tech offer came through at the best time for realizing VT will have a great shot to land a player: at the conclusion of an unofficial visit he took during the off-season with no promise of actually receiving said offer. The Hokies immediately become Clark's best offer, and he's already admitted that they're the leader in the clubhouse, as well. With VT's focus on Dr. Phillips (2017 signee Robert Porcher plus plenty of offers out in 2018 and beyond), they should be able to maintain that lead as long as they want to, and have as good a chance as anybody to land Clark, even when more offers arrive.
