Brown is a nationally elite prospect, and already has a wealth of options to choose from: Virginia Tech isn't exactly ahead of the curve here, is what I'm trying to say. Brown was planning to worry about the AAU circuit in the Summer and shift his focus to recruiting at the end of it, but it's fair to say Auburn (one of the longest-tenured entrants in his recruitment) and South Carolina (the hometown school coming off a Final Four appearance) have nudged ahead of the pack at this early stage. VT will have to work to get him on campus and sell him on the Buzz Williams future in Blacksburg to have a serious shot.
