Tenuta is a 6-8, 260-pounder ranked as a strongside defensive end, but likely to play offensive tackle in Blacksburg. He is considered the No. 27 senior in the state of Virginia, and his father, Jon, is a former defensive coordinator at UVa and North Carolina (among others), and currently at Cincinnati.

He picked VT over North Carolina, UCF, West Virginia, and others. He is the fourth offensive lineman in the class, and the fifth in-state player (both of those figures include Fork Union postgrad Christian Darrisaw).
