Virginia Tech continues to add bodies to its bench. But for the second time this spring, the Hokies are adding a player who won't be eligible this fall.
Former South Florida forward Zach LeDay announced tonight via Twitter that he's decided to transfer to Virginia Tech. After playing two seasons for the Bulls, LeDay will have to sit out this fall, per NCAA transfer rules and will be eligible for the 2015-16 season. He'll have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
I'm going to play at Virginia tech thanks to all those who support me and all I believe in! #GoHokies #VT- Zach LeDay! (@ZachLeDay32) June 4, 2014
LeDay was recruited to USF by Steve Rocaforte, who joined the Hokies earlier this spring. LeDay will also join fellow transfer Seth Allen, the former Maryland guard who like LeDay, will have to sit out this fall and have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
LeDay played in all 32 of South Florida's games last season, starting 16 of them. He averaged 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds, with seven blocks and nine steals.
