The Hokies had easily outgained their past two opponents. Tonight was more of the same, but this time, they took better care of the ball and when they did lose a handle on the ball, in the swirling wind and rain, they got it back.

But maybe the biggest was that for just the second time in school history, as an unranked team, Virginia Tech defeated a top 15 team. It happened last in 1989 in a win over West Virginia.
There's still life left in these Hokies. The coastal division title is still a possibility.
