After a familiar slow start, Virginia Tech recovered to slide past Duke 41-20 on Saturday afternoon inside Lane Stadium.

The Hokies fell behind in the first quarter 20-0, but scored 41 unanswered as the Hokies completed their biggest comeback ever under head coach Frank Beamer.
The offense was clicking for the Hokies from the 2nd quarter on and totaled 525 yards of total offense. The offensive output was the most since Tech put up 605 against Wake Forest in 2010.
Duke head coach David Cutcliffe acknowledged it was a tough game to take for them afterwards.
"It hurt today," he said. "It hurt a lot, particularly when you have a 20-point lead at one time, but in the end, I thought that Virginia Tech, as I told Coach Beamer after the game, 'your team responded like a champion today.' Congratulations to them, they got it done."
