Hoops signee Nickeil Alexander-Walker will participate in Nike Hoop Summit

In just over a week, several of the best under-19 basketball players in the world will convene in Portland, Oregon for the Nike Hoop Summit. Among them will be Virginia Tech signee Nickeil Alexander-Walker. From the Nike Hoop Summit website:

Alexander-Walker is the third guard from that Canadian U18 team to be selected to the World Team. He led the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship in scoring with 17.4 points, as Canada lost to the USA in the gold medal game. He has committed to play at Virginia Tech next season.

Alexander-Walker played his high school basketball at Chattanooga (Tenn.) Hamilton Heights Christian Academy, whom he led to the USA National Prep Tournament championship earlier this month.

The four-star is a 6-5, 175-pound shooting guard ranked the No. 29 overall prospect in the nation for the 2017 class. A sharpshooter who can put the ball on the floor, "NAW" will be a key piece for the Hokies as early as his freshman year, when he can help replace some of the production lost with the graduations of shooting guard Seth Allen and forward Zach LeDay.
