Indiana, Kansas, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, UCLA, Washington State, and West Virginia are the other programs still in the mix for the three-star. The majority of this eliminated are mid-major programs, but Oregon State is among the Power-5 schools he took out of the hunt.

The 6-1, 180-pound Ross previously attended Jacksonville Trinity High - where he was a teammate of 2018 pledge Chamarri Conner - but now goes to Westlake High in Atlanta. Virginia Tech's class is quickly filling up at the defensive back position so Ross, who has yet to visit Blacksburg, will have to up interest from his own end if he wants to ensure there will be room for him when a decision date comes.

He has admitted that Mississippi State, UCLA, and West Virginia area slightly ahead of the rest of the pack.
