Hokies open 2023 with a victory against Old Dominion

BLACKSBURG, Va. - And breathe. After months of anticipation, position battles, and players filing in and out of this Hokie squad, the Orange and Maroon were able to hush the critics and take down their recent Achilles heel in Old Dominion. Although the game was not always pretty the Hokies fought and showed a spirit that was preached all throughout last spring and summer en route to a 36-17 victory.

The Hokies took possession number one and, well, did not deliver. All eyes were on senior quarterback Wells after his disappointing first season with VT. However, it was running back Bhayshul Tuten who delivered, making the crowd cheer with an impressive weaving run to gain the Hokies only seven yards of drive one.
