Hokies make top eight for Jake Forrester

Westtown (Pa.) 2018 forward Jake Forrester is down to eight schools, and Virginia Tech is alive for the Rivals150 prospect.

The No. 130 overall prospect in the country is also considering Georgia Tech, Indiana, Notre Dame, Pitt, Seton Hall, VCU, and Xavier. Arizona State, Minnesota, Richmond, and Vanderbilt are among those he eliminated from contention.

At 6-8, 215 pounds, he could be a very good fit for the Hokies' power forward position, and even play a little bit in the middle when Buzz Williams opts to go with small-ball lineups. He plans to take all of his allotted official visits before coming to a final decision (though he had been planning to trim to six schools, not eight, so there's a chance for more excitement along the way).

Virginia Tech's 2018 class currently contains one player, guard Jarren McAllister.
