Rahway (N.J.) 2019 defensive end Antonio Alfano is down to 12 schools, and Virginia Tech remains in the running.
Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, and Tennessee are the other schools still in the running. He eliminated options like North Carolina, Oregon, and USC, and decided not to wait on interest from reigning national champions Clemson and several others.
The 6-4, 260-pounder is ranked the No. 6 strongside defensive end and No. 57 overall prospect nationally, and intends to make his final commitment "Very soon." Although Virginia Tech is nominally in the running, the Hokies may need another unofficial visit if they want to have a serious shot to land him.
