After much waiting and anticipation, Virginia Tech received commitment No. 11 early this morning from 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete Peter Rose. The Amherst, Va. prospect selected the Hokies over offers from Virginia, Marshall, Navy, Syracuse, Ohio and JMU amongst others.

The three-star prospect Rose will join fellow 2008 prospect and teammate Derrick McCoy in Blacksburg. Last season Rose posted nearly 2,000 yards of offense and 29 touchdowns. He added two interceptions on defense.
Rose is rated the No. 66 athlete in the country and No. 28 prospect in the state of Virginia. According to the Central Virginia prospect, Rose believes Virginia Tech is recruiting him as a wide receiver first.
Rose will be out until Wednesday, so for the moment Hokiehaven.com will try to find out more from his coach Scott Abell. Last week Abell said this about Rose.
"He's one of those kids that has all the intangibles. He is a very good student and athlete and is one of the leaders of our program."
Stay tuned for more on Peter Rose's announcement later today and throughout the week.
