Hokies in top five for Georgia big man Hammonds

Buzz Williams and his VT basketball coaches seem to be focused primarily on wing players in the 2017 recruiting class at this time, but they're still going after big men, as well. Fortunately, power forward Rayshaun Hammonds is high on the Hokies.

The 6-8, 215-pounder - the No. 67 overall prospect in the nation - named VT to his top 14 list this weekend.

Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Memphis, Miami (Fla.), Providence, Texas, Texas A&M, and Western Kentucky join the Hokies on Hammonds's list of finalists.

Auburn, Oklahoma State, and UCF were among those eliminated from contention.
