Hokies in the top eight for Raymond Boone
Greenbelt (Md.) Eleanor Roosevelt 2018 safety Raymond Boone has a top eight, and Virginia Tech makes the cut.
The three-star also includes Kentucky, Marshall, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Temple in TE list of schools he's still considering.
While the initial mutual interest between the Hokies and Boone was strong, it had seemed to fade in recent months. That's apparently no longer the case for the No. 49 safety in the country and No. 15 rising senior in Maryland for the 2018 class. The 6-1, 195-pounder doesn't have further plans for narrowing his recruitment, and plans to consider new entrants if schools issue offers.
Virginia Tech has loaded up on defensive backs in the 2018 class already, with four in the fold. While they'd still like to add more, their priority is on corners, not safeties.
